    Contributions to Amec Stewardship Code are now available    
   

The Association of Capital Market Investors – Amec – has received a number of contributions to the draft version of Amec Stewardship Code. The code’s final version will be deliberated by Amec’s Board of Directors on September 1st and its release to the Brazilian capital markets will take place during the 2016 Amec Investor Forum to be held on October 27th, when the association celebrates its 10th anniversary.

    Amec co-chairs the Global Network of Investor Associations    
   

During the conference of the International Corporate Governance Network - ICGN, held in San Francisco from June 28th to July 1st, the CEO of the Association of Capital Market Investors was nominated co-chair of the Global Network of Investor Associations (GNIA), which is managed by ICGN. GNIA is comprised of 11 associations that represent investors in several countries, among which the USA, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Italy, Australia, Malaysia and Southeast Asian countries.

    BM&FBOVESPA promotes new workshops on the reform of Novo Mercado    
   

In addition to the Public Hearing about the reform of Novo Mercado, to be closed on September 9th, 2016, the Brazilian Stock Exchange – BM&FBOVESPA – has been promoting workshops about the topic with the market’s agents. In the edition held in Rio de Janeiro on July 26th, the Association of Capital Market Investors – Amec – was represented by its member Pedro Rudge. In the edition to be held in Sao Paulo on September 2nd, Amec will be represented by its CEO, Mauro Rodrigues da Cunha, and by the association’s vice president Guilherme Vicente.

    Amec participates in the launch of Papers of IBGC’s Market Communication Committee    
   

On August 3rd, Roberto Reis, vice president of the Association of Capital Market Investors – Amec, was one of the speakers in the Launch of Papers of the Market Communication Committee of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance - IBGC. At the event, Reis had the opportunity to contribute with the discussions about ways to control the information of publicly held companies.

    Workshop about the Shareholders’ Meetings Season Fosters the Dialogue among Companies, Investors and the Regulator    
   

On June 22nd, Amec – the Association of Capital Market Investors – held “The 2016 Shareholders’ Meetings Season – Lessons Learned” workshop. The event offered a completely new experience: companies, investors and the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) had the opportunity to address their difficulties and availabilities on an informal basis. “We noticed that some situations can be easily managed when the parties are able to share their expectations and needs with each other,” explains Amec CEO, Mauro Rodrigues da Cunha.

Pablo Renteria, CVM Director, closed the event with a very clear request: “As CVM is not present in the meetings, it’s important that both investors and companies continue to do what we have just done here, that is, to report what happens in shareholders’ meetings and the aspects that can be improved.”
